OS-App relationship

• The app allows the user to communicate with the machine ( User interfaces with the app).  (User tells Microsoft Word to print)
•  App passes on messages to the OS.  (App tells OS to print the document)
• OS communicates with the Hardware. (OS passes print job to the Printer )

                            App is designed to interface with the specific OS.
